Venue: Lecture Hall, first floor, Library, Emerald Lake Campus
Speaker: Professor Mahinan
Employer: University of Science and Technology of China
Organized by: School of Mathematics
Introduction to the Report:
We start with the Laplace equation, then derive the nonlinear elliptic equation from the differential geometry problem, and finally obtain the existence of the solution using a prior estimate.
Brief Introduction of speaker:
Ma Xinan is professor, doctoral supervisor and associate dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China. His research interests include nonlinear elliptic equations and geometric analysis. In classical geometry, the famous Christoffel-Minkowski problem, the convexity of solutions of partial differential equations and level sets, the regularity of optimal transport problems, and the Neumann boundary value problem of nonlinear elliptic equations, etc., have made a series of important research work of international influence. Mathematicae, Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, etc. In 2004, he was supported by the New Century Excellent Talents Program of the Ministry of Education, and in 2011, he was approved by the National Outstanding Youth Fund. From 2013 to 2018, he was appointed as the Special Professor of Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education.
